On Friday, September 27, Downtown Hot Springs, NC faced severe devastation from the flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. The storm left much of our downtown in ruins, with numerous businesses destroyed and critical infrastructure, including water, sewer, electricity, and communication systems, heavily impacted. Cleanup and recovery efforts have begun and are expected to continue for several weeks.
We kindly ask that non-residents hold off on visiting Hot Springs for the time being, unless directly involved in the relief efforts. Tourism is the heartbeat of our local economy and will play a vital role in our recovery. We eagerly await the day we can welcome you back with open arms and warm hospitality. Until then, please keep Western North Carolina in your thoughts and prayers as we rebuild, with hope shining through the mountains.
