State of Emergency in Hot Springs, NC

On Friday, September 27, Downtown Hot Springs, NC faced severe devastation from the flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. The storm left much of our downtown in ruins, with numerous businesses destroyed and critical infrastructure, including water, sewer, electricity, and communication systems, heavily impacted. Cleanup and recovery efforts have begun and are expected to continue for several weeks.

  • Where to find food, water, and supplies

    Hot Springs First Baptist Church (35 Meadow Ln). Hours for pickup will be Tuesday & Thursday from 2:00PM-6:00PM and Saturday from 10:00AM-2:00PM.

  • School to resume Wed. 10/16

    Madison County Schools will resume on Wednesday, October 16 on a two-hour delay. There will also be a two-hour delay on Thursday and Friday to give bus drivers plenty of light for the commute.  On Monday, October 21, the regular schedule will resume.

  • Town Meeting Updates

    The next town meeting will be held at 59 Meadow Ln at 11:00AM, Tuesday, October 15th.

  • Our water is clean!

    Based on the laboratory analysis of water samples collected from Town of Hot Springs on 10/08/2024, water users are hereby notified that it is no longer necessary to boil water used for human consumption.

  • Duke Energy substation in place

    We are no longer running on the micro grid! Duke Energy has installed a temporary substation that will power the town uninterrupted until a more permenant solution can come online.
